Weekly Reset Ritual

Time can move in such a funny way.
Sometimes it moves too slowly, other times too quickly. And although time never stops, people often say they don't have enough of it; but then there are times when we have too much of it, and things seems to be moving too quickly with no time to catch up.
If you aren't careful, time will slip away, and before you know everything is happening all at once, and life feels a bit chaotic. Unchecked to- do list, forgotten task, missed deadlines, in the mist of busy week can leave you on a never ending hamster wheel.
That's where a weekly reset comes in. And a bullet journal is perfect tool to make your reset ritual not only effective but also creatively fulfilling.
Weekly Reset?
A pause. A designated time for you to stop and reflect, tidy up, plan, or prepare for the future. Think of it like hitting "refresh" on your brain. This time isn't just about planning your work week, although you can incorporate your thirty minute planning time into your Reset Ritual; this time is designed to reset your mindset, environment, and priorities.
Benefits of a Weekly Reset:
1. Reduce stress
2. Encourage mindfulness and reflections
3. Give structure to your week
4. Create a space for self care
Remember, a bullet journal is more than just a planner. Its a tool that can be used is several different ways, including assisting with your Weekly Reset Ritual.
1. Weekly Reflections - Start by reviewing your past week. What worked? What didn't? What did you learn? What do you need to do more of or less of? Dedicate a spread in your bujo to jot down:
• Wins of the week
• Challenges
• Moments of gratitude
• Areas of improvement
Planner Tip: Add mood trackers with color - coded boxes to make it visual and engaging.
2. Brain Dumps - This doesn't have to be just plans, you can brain dump any ideas, worries, reminders or even quotes that have resonated with you - whatever it is - write it all down. Get it off your brain. This declutters your mind and helps you sort out what actually needs your attention.
Planner Tip: Use bullets, mind maps, graphic organizers, or a freeform sketch layout, whatever helps let go of the mental clutter.
3. Task Migration - When planning for the upcoming week, look back on last week and migrate any unfinished task. Decide if you need to:
• Move task forward to current week
• Delegate it
• Delete it - yes, you can delete a task, especially if they are very low on your priority list.
4. Tidy Your Space - And not just your physical space. Take a minute to tidy up any area that is cluttered, included your inbox, pictures or documents on your phone, or in the cloud.
Planner Tips: Create a Reset Checklist.
5. Create a Ritual - Light a candle. Make some tea or coffee, visit a local coffee shop, play your favorite playlist, make this time something that you look forward to doing. This time is for you, so treat yourself.
When you pair your bullet journal with your Weekly Reset Ritual, you are giving yourself the space to pause, plan, and breathe. Letting time slow down just enough to catch up and plan accordingly.
