Reclaim Your Time

Like I've said before, you do not have the same 24 hours as Beyonce.
But you also don't need any more time your day.
If you feel like your constantly running out of time, then it wouldn't matter if you had 30 minutes or three hours; at this point you have to re-evalute how you are actually spend your time.
Thus, the Done List.
A Done List is just what it sounds like—a record of tasks you've actually completed.
Why have a Done List?
1. Boost Motivation
Seeing everything you’ve accomplished in a day can be both encouraging and motivating. This is especially true for tasks with many small parts—recognizing your progress will inspire you to keep going, increasing your overall productivity.
2. Tracks Productivity Trends
People typically work better at certain times of the day. A Done List will help to identify patterns in your work habits and give you a better understanding of what times during the day that you usually work the best. Using this information when planning out your day will help to maximize your time.
3. Reduces anxiety.
When your To Do List feels never - ending, your Done List is a reminder of what you have accomplished and how much or how little you have left to go.
4. Provides a record of performance
Not only for you, but for anyone else asking about how you are spending your time or what you have accomplished.
Planner Tips to integrate a Done List:
End of Day Reflection - add updating your Done List to your end of day routine, either before you leave the office or before you go to bed at night.
Running List - keep a running list throughout the week of everything you have done, it can be included on your weekly log or added as a individual spread.
Side - By - Side View - create a space right next to your To Do List for the Done List. The goal is eventually get them to align.
Hourly Log - in between events on your hourly log, jot down what you accomplished and at what time.
The end goal is become more productive, which sounds easier than it really is. It is so easy to lose track of time or get caught up in shallow work, leaving you to feel like there isn't enough time for the important stuff. If your normal To Do List isnt cutting, take it up a notch with a Done List.
