What's one thing you can do today, to make tomorrow easier?
That's a Fly Lady tip and a life hack that has become a staple in my every day.
Now, I could make a list of things that I could do right now to make my tomorrow better and number will always be - Leave It How You Want To Find it.
If you read the article "Routines" then this is a bit redundant. It is tied closely to building your routine, but if we are starting with baby baby steps; this is step one.
A quick and easy method to maximize your time, without creating another list.
Getting into the habit of taking a few minutes each day to leave things how I want to find them later, can change everything. Improve your mood. Boost your productivity. Decrease your anxiety.
It takes two minutes to clean off my desk and tidy up my office before I leave work each day; but improves my entire morning when I walk into my office the next day with a clean workspace.
I hate hate hate doing dishes, but taking five minutes every night to load the dishwasher and clean the sink provides the kickstart I need in the morning.
And we all know what making your bed every morning can do for you!
Now apply that your planner.
Leave it how you want to find it.
Before you close out your work day or before you go to sleep, return to your planner. Review what you did that day, adjust what you need to do for tomorrow. Make a list. Jot down what your grateful for or the highlight of your day. Add a life quote or your favorite song lyric. Whatever you want to greet you in the morning.
Pack your work bag, lay out your clothes, and clean your kitchen sink.
In the morning, see how refreshed you feel when you find everything just how you like it.
